Abstract

Nomophobia merupakan kecemasan yang dialami seseorang ketika berada jauh dari smartphone miliknya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi Nomohpobia adalah tipe kepribadian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara lima tipe kepribadian menurut Big Five dengan Nomophobia pada generasi milenial angakatan 2017 di Universitas Katholik Widya Mandala Surabaya. Dalam penelitian ini, sebanyak 350 mahasiswa angkatan 2017 dengan rentang usia antara 18 hingga 22 tahun direkruit dengan teknik disproportionate stratified random sampling. Peneliti menggunakan kuesioner Big Five Inventory versi Indonesia dan kuesioner Nomophobia (NMP-Q) yang dikembangkan peneliti. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan program SPSS for Windows Versi 16.0. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara Nomophobia dengan tipe kepribadian Extraversion, serta tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tipe kepribadian menurut Big Five lainnya (Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, dan Openness) dengan Nomophobia.
