Abstract
This research is meant to identify the competitive advantage that can be used to take necessary actions to expand the market share of PT Satelit Palapa Indonesia (which is known as Satelindo) of East Java branch. This company operates in the field of the telecommunication producing cards that can be used by cellular phone users to communicate with each other. Due to increasing number of cellular phone users annually, new players in the same industry have come to exist and it is expected that foreign players will also come to compete when Indonesia opens free market. This makes Satelindo think of expanding its market share especially for prepaid phone cards. This research used descriptive method by analyzing internal and external environment. The result of this research indicates that the firm has a favorable situation with many strengths and opportunities that are supported by internal and external environment. The strategy suggested is growth strategy using market development, product innovation, product quality and quality service improvement to the subscribers.
