The aim of this study is to find out the belief of the English Department students of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya (WMCUS) in using songs to improve their English, specifically to improve their listening skill and to find out which aspect of listening skill that is greatly helped by listening to English songs. This study falls under descriptive qualitative research. The participants were fifty English Department students. A questionnaire consisting of fifteen close-ended questions which was adapted from Ranggen (2016) and an interview were used as instruments to obtain the data.
