Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh free cash flow terhadap kinerja perusahaan dengan overinvestment dan underinvestment sebagai variabel moderasi yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Variabel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah variabel kinerja perusahaan, free cash flow, overinvestment dan underinvestment dengan variabel kontrol sales growth dan size. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 289 perusahaan yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tahun 2019. Sumber data diambil dari laporan keuangan perusahaan setiap triwulan selama 2018-2019. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa overinvestment memperkuat pengaruh negatif free cash flowterhadap kinerja perusahaan. Sedangkan free cash flowsendiri tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang overinvestment maupun kinerja perusahaan yang underinvestment. Selain itu, underinvestment tidak memperkuat pengaruh negatif free cash flow terhadap kinerja perusahaan.
