Abstract

In this era, teaching with a different approach is important. How teachers’ perspective toward her students holds the important role in the learning process of students. Based on the mentioned case, the writer conducts this study. This study is conducted to answer a question about whether the Humanistic Approach by Erin Gruwell in The Freedom Writers Movie apply in this movie. The study is categorized as a nonexperimental and qualitative study. The instrument used in this study was a movie script. The subjects of the study was Erin Gruwell and the students of Room 203. The result of this study shows that The Humanistic Approach applied through nine scenes in this movie. The writer hopes that the future writer could conduct the study deeper than the writer’s study.
