Abstract

This paper describes about how to teach vocabulary through Edmodo. Vocabulary is a basic for mastering the four skills. The teacher should be more creative to get students’ interest. In learning vocabulary, the writer saw in junior high school where he did teaching practice, students got less vocabulary mastery and less motivation. In this paper, the writer tried to make learning activity more interesting by using Edmodo. By combining with Direct Method, the writer tried to teach vocabulary in Edmodo. It was easy to use because Edmodo look similar with Facebook. His students were very excited when they learned through Edmodo. Most of students use internet in their daily lives and we can save paper because all of the activities done by online. Edmodo has many advantages such as : teacher can create online discussion, create poll, parents’ report and also post all online media. All of the activities were monitored by the teachers, so the teachers can control what will be done in virtual class in Edmodo. The writer suggested to all of the teachers can combine between teaching activity and internet using. So, learning activity can be fun and interesting.
