The writer was interested in conducting this study because of the reason that the teens like to read teenager magazines for its easy language. This study is an analysis of the vocabularies used in Indonesian teenager magazines to find what language varieties mostly used in teenager magazines and the factors that influence their uses. The theories underlying the study are language and culture; language function, choice of words, language style in relation with the social context; dialect and the theory of teenagers' psychological background. The writer used a content analysis method and she gained the data from Aneka and Kawanku teenager magazines. There are seven articles which were picked as the representatives. All these data were then analyzed based on the respective underlying theory, interpreted and summarized as well as concluded. From the analysis, the writer found that there are seven kinds of language varieties mostly applied in teenager magazines. They are Ngoko Javanese, Jakartanese, colloquial, slang, abbreviation, English and Indonesian. The writer also found five factors that influence the language varieties used in teenager magazine. They are language culture, choice of words, language style, the language function and the teenagers' psychological background factor. The writer gave the interpretation of findings for each theory as the factors that influence the language used in teenager magazine as follows: The Language Culture The language culture factor of the readers influences the language varieties used in the teenager magazine. So, it is the readers' language cultural need to use Javanese and Jakartanese dialect expressions, for most of them are from Java Island including Jakarta City. The Choice of Word The readers' choice of word influences the language varieties used in teenager magazine. It means that the choice of words in the teenager magazine should suit the teenagers' language needs. Therefore, colloquial, abbreviation, slang and English are used in teenager magazine for they fulfil the readers' language needs. The Language Style It is the teenagers' language needs as the readers to have informal and very informal language style for this very favorable style makes an interesting and not monotonous or clumsy speech. The Language Function The language function is one of the factors that influences the language varieties used in the teenager magazine. Since the main purpose of the magazine as a media is to give information, the referential function is applied the most. In oredr to build a good communication and interaction with the readers, there are also affective, directive, phatic and some other functions which are used too. The Teenagers' Psychological Background It is the teen's psychological background that determines the language needs of the teenagers the most. Since they prefer interesting and at least up to date language expressions to monotonous or clumsy language, there is more than one language varieties are applied with mostly informal and even very informal style. The writer realizes that this study has been conducted in a short time so that the results might lack findings in details. She therefore encourages and suggests the next other researchers who are interested in studying about the teenagers' language especially the teenagers' language varieties used in teens' magazines to discuss this deeper in the language culture and the choice of words factor particularly.
