Abstract

Group work became one of effective and efficient teaching strategy in the educational aspect. Many teachers believed that this strategy gave many benefits to students. However, every student had a different character to learn the lesson, especially young learners. They had a different character from the adult learners which they need particular treatment in teaching the lessons. That matter raised the question of whether group work could be applied to young learners. This research aimed to investigate the teachers’ perception towards the implementation of group work in teaching English to young learners. The participants of this study were four native English teachers who had experience in teaching English to young learners. A questionnaire and interview were used to collect data and was analyzed qualitatively through a descriptive approach. The researcher found that teachers had positive perception toward the implementation of group work in teaching English to young learners.
