Abstract

Latar Belakang: Staphylococcus epidermidis adalah mikroorganisme yang terdapat dalam kulit dan membran mukosa tubuh manusia dengan kemampuan untuk menyebabkan infeksi nosokomial akibat penggunaan alat implan, penyakit jantung, sendi, dan aliran darah. Tanaman mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) adalah salah satu tanaman obat yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan efek antibakteri daun mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dengan studi non equivalent control group design. Metode: Pembuatan ekstrak daun mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) dengan metode dekokta. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode uji mikrodilusi dalam 96 well plate kemudian membaca hasil berupa nilai absorbansi dengan spektrofotometer untuk mengetahui nilai KHM dan streaking agar untuk mengetahui nilai KBM. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KHM dan KBM tidak terletak dalam rentang konsentrasi 12,5-100 mg/mL. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah daun mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) tidak memiliki KHM dan KBM terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis. Kata
