Abstract

The bottom line of the communication research states that communication is one of the decisive factors for the success of an organization. However, a number of managers are not convinced that communication is essential for the success in business life. Therefore, this research has been conducted to identify the internal communication strategy carried out by Jawa Pos Group to manage its units and its effects on the performance of the company's units. The research is concerned with the observation of three communication characteristics: the effectiveness of business communication, the trust toward superiors, and the effectiveness of the horizontal communication. The result indicates that the effectiveness of business communication, the trust toward superiors, and the availability of communication facilities have positive effects on the performance of the units. The findings offer substantial insights concerning how to manage the characteristics of strategic communication to ensure success
