Abstract
Kaempferia oil (Kaempferia galangal L.) in topical used known have vasorelaxan, antiinjlammation and analgesic effect. The aim of this research was to know the anti inflammation effect of kaempferia oil 10% and penetration enhancer 5% (oleic acid, isopropyl myristate and menthol) in olive oil. Two cottons with carrageen 1% were implanted within the back skin of guinea pigs. Each six formulas uf kaempferia oil was applied to the back skin of guinea pigs for 7 days. At day eight, the cottons were removed and dried in the oven at l 20"C for 2 hours. The exudates weight between tested group compared with controlled groups. The results showed significant d~fference of antiitiflammation <;[feet from each penetration enhancer. lsopropyl myristate give the better enhancement. The antiinflamation effect of Kaempferia oil better than betamethazone valerate as golden standard. This result indicated the promising prospect of kaempferia oil as anti inflammation agent.
