Abstract

The development of the teacher's quality has become an unavoidable need and expectation of our society. As the key human resource in the field of education, teachers are expected to be able to educate the Indonesian citizens so that they will have a brighter future. As an educational institution, PPPK Petra possesses an organizational grand strategy which enables it to have the human resources management run and developed using computer based information technology. In regard to this condition, the question raised in this case study research was "how can the human resources management at PPPK Petra be run by the computer based information technology in order to support the teacher's career planning system and the school principal's succession at PPPK Petra?" The objective of this research was to get an in depth and holistic picture of the organizational grand strategy, the Human Resources Management Information System, the teacher's career planning system and the school principals' succession system at PPPK Petra. This qualitative research was based on McLeod Human Resources Information System theory model, which was employed as the foundation in analyzing Human Resources Management Information System at PPPK Petra through case study and units of analysis approaches. Several other theories were about organizational grand strategy as the basis of Human Resources Management Information System development. There were three units of analysis in this research which were choosing organizational grand strategy, designing Human Resources Management Information System, the teacher's career planning system and the succession of the school principal at PPPK Petra. The data gathered was analyzed using descriptive qualitative approach based on the requirements of case studies using theoretical propositions. The result of this research would be recommend to PPPK Petra to design Human Resources Management Information System which supports the teacher's career planning and the school principal's succession system appropriately and objectively.
