Abstract

Madiun City Senior High School Student Interest Towards Choices Assisted by Guidance and Counseling Assistance in Non-Test Assessment in Madiun City for the direction of interest in Madiun Senior High School students towards the choice of Guidance and Counseling majors assisted by non-test assessment and knowing the factors causing the low interest of Madiun Senior High School students in the direction of Guidance and Counseling majors. Counseling. The study design uses descriptive qualitative methods. Sampling uses a quota sampling method of 500 respondents (students) who come from class XI high school students in Madiun City. Data collection was obtained through a questionnaire (questionnaire), interviews and observations, while data analysis using the Spradley model is a data analysis technique that is adjusted to the stages in the study. The results in this study that the direction of student interest in the choice of guidance and counseling majors is low from the data obtained by students who are interested in the BK major as many as 28 students (5.47%) out of 382 students. While the factors causing the low direction of student interest in the Guidance and Counseling majors include: (1) Lack of information about the Guidance and Counseling majors, (2) Lack of understanding of interests, (3) The Guidance and Counseling Department is less favorite, (4) Interest in becoming low teacher, (5) Difficult job prospects, (6) Family and environment.
