Abstract

Digital correspondence is the activity of creating, sending, receiving, and replying to letters by utilizing digital communication technology. The secretary should develop knowledge and skills in correspondence by utilizing digital communication technology. The purpose of this study was to determine the secretary's behavior in digital correspondence. This research approach is quantitative with descriptive survey method. There were 27 respondents who filled out the questionnaire completely. The 27 respondents work as secretaries or do secretarial tasks. The behavioral domains observed from the research are based on the classification developed by Bloom, namely a) knowledge, b) attitudes, and c) practice. In the knowledge domain, respondents are known to be accustomed to using computers to compose and send letters by e-mail. Respondents have no difficulty in operating a computer. In the attitude domain, respondents have a good and positive attitude in making letters using digital communication technology. In the practice domain, it shows that respondents have good behavioral practices in digital correspondence. So it can be concluded that the respondents behaved well in digital correspondence. They view positively the advancement of digital communication technology and are willing to learn digital communication technology to support digital correspondence activities.
