Abstract

This research has long term purpose to determine government policies dan food industries to reach national food security. The main purposes that want to reach are to find the pattern of knowledge, preference, attitude, intention to try, and intention to switch to alternative food, except rice and flour. The concept for this reseach is the consumer behavior theory. The method is survey. Respondents are 207 persons who responsible to prepare food in f amily. The analysis use descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis. The result show that the pattern of knowledge is hign enough, the first preference is corn and the last is kelapa sawit. Respondents like singkong and ubi jalar. Respondents also have intention to try singkong and ubi jalar. Nonetheless, respondents doubt to switch to singkong and do not have intention to switch to ubi jalar.
