Abstract
Kerja Praktek telah dilakukan di PT. Candi Mas pada tanggal 8 Juni – 8 Agustus 2014. PT. Candi Mas merupakan perusahaan yang memiliki bidang bisnis berupa produksi plastic warehouse. Bahan baku utama yaitu polypropylene. Pabrik PT Candi Mas 25 Juni 1983 oleh Bapak Cokro Nugroho dan beralamat di Jalan Warugunung nomor 38, Surabaya. Hasil produksi yang didapat yaitu waterjug, gelas, mangkok, dan lain-lain. Hasil produksi PT.Candi Mas akan dijual ke distributor-distributor salah satunya di kawasan Margomulyo. Untuk menghasilkan produk, PT Candi Mas menggunakan 2 plant untuk proses produksi. Plant 1 yang merupakan unit pengolahan awal yang akan mengolah botol minuman plastik bekas yang berlogo PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Plant 2 yang merupakan unit pengolahan berbagai macam biji plastik antara lain PP (polypropylene) super, OPP NAT, LD infus, PP aqua, PP ori, LD ori yang akan diolah menjadi berbagai macam alat alat rumah tangga. Produk PT. Candi Mas tergolong menjadi dua yaitu food dan non-food grade product. Produk non-food grade seperti hanger, gayung, ember, cikrak sampah, pot bunga, tempat sampah, tempat sabun, tempat sendok & garpu, keranjang, dan rak susun menggunakan bahan baku utama polypropylene aqua dengan sedikit campuran bijih plastik jenis lain. Sedangkan, produksi produk food grade seperti tempat makan, mangkok, water jug, gelas, loyang, dan cetakan agar-agar menggunakan polypropylene original sebagai bahan baku utama dengan sedikit campuran bijih plastik lain. Suplai bahan baku utama polypropylene aqua dilakukan sendiri dengan pengolahan botol plastik berlogo PET (polyethylene terephthalate) menggunakan mesin penggilingan sedangkan bahan baku lainnya diperoleh dari produsen tertentu.
