Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh free cash flow dan agency cost terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Selain itu juga, bertujuan untuk menguji apakah agency cost memediasi pengaruh free cash flow terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Agency cost diproxykan dengan TATO (asset turnover) dan OPEXR (operating expense ratio). Sedangkan kinerja perusahaan diukur dengan menggunakan operating performance yaitu ROA (return on asset) dan ROE (return on equity), dan return saham. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sebanyak 71 perusahaan dalam industri manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia selama periode 2011-2015 dengan pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Teknik statistika yang diguankan dalam penelitian ini adalah OLS (ordinary Least Square) dan path analysis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa free cash flow berpengaruh positif terhadap agency cost yang diproxykan dengan TATO. Free cash flow tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Agency cost memediasi pengaruh free cash flow terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang diukur dengan menggunakan operating performance dan return saham.
